The Belle Arte String Quartet is an outstanding professional ensemble that Central Virginians have relied upon since its inception in 1984. They have played hundreds of weddings and receptions, each with music personally selected by or tailored to suit the Bride and Groom. Composed of the traditional combination of two violins, a viola and a cello, members of the Belle Arte String Quartet have studied at well-known music schools and conservatories and in addition to playing with the Richmond Symphony, have had extensive experience performing in many different situations, including solo recitals by individual members both here and abroad. The Belle Arte String Quartet has played in locations as varied as romantic riverboat cruise ships, to a Grand Opening for a not-quite-completed hotel where musicians were required to wear hard hats while performing.
